Connecting community with opportunity
Established in 2024
OUR STORY
What started out as a pseudo chamber of commerce has grown into so much more! The initial intent of the group was to connect local businesses and create awareness of the skills and services right here in Wolverine. As community interest was being gauged, it became apparent that Connect Wolverine needed to be a group open to anyone who had a heart for our community and who is dedicated to strengthening connections in our small town. We bring together business owners, local leaders and community-minded individuals to strengthen our community, support local growth and create new opportunities. By connecting like-minded neighbors, we are building a more vibrant and resilient community, one connection at a time.
Together, we can make a difference!

OUR APPROACH

Our group is centered around connections, collaboration and inclusivity. We believe in the power of community and the impact it can have on driving positive change. By working together, we can create a supportive environment where businesses thrive and individuals flourish. Connect Wolverine is dedicated to making a difference in our little town.
Meetings are held on

Projects

1
Wolverine High School
Student Support
Career days and senior seminar speakers are just two of the ways that we support our students. Local business leaders and individuals volunteer their time to share their professional and life experiences with students with the goal of inspiring them to be all that they can be and to show that no two career paths are alike.
2
Farmers and Makers
Market
Our once-a-week market in the summer months in downtown Wolverine features local homegrown, homemade and handmade items to support local businesses and artisans. There are also bonus spring and fall markets for our vendors to participate in. We are always looking for new vendors to join us and of course, customers!
3
Community Garden
Our community garden has the aim to bring people together to grow fresh food and connect with community. The garden area will also be beautified by including benches, walkways,
perennial and annual flower beds, and perhaps a fresh paint job for the building at the old ice rink site. Additionally, gardening and food preparation classes will be offered.

4
Golf Tournaments
Funds raised in these twice-a-year fun golf scrambles support the scholarship fund for a Wolverine High School student each year. The first tournament is held in June and is a traditional scramble. The second tournament is held in August and is a nighttime Glow Golf scramble. Both utilize the funds from golf entries, sponsorships and silent auctions.
5
Seasonal Clothing Drives
Connect Wolverine wants to help with clothing for area families in need. Clothing drives with local businesses and organizations are planned to be held throughout the year. Plan to clean out your closets and donate your unneeded clothing to a good cause!
6
Scholarship Fund
Ongoing efforts are being made to raise funds to provide a scholarship for Wolverine High School seniors each year. The 2026 scholarship was a trades scholarship awarded in the name of Dave Nash who was a Wolverine businessman who had a love of welding and building unique items. Each year a new person will be named to be honored by this scholarship.
